    What is a drawdown?

A drawdown is how far a price has fallen from its highest point before it climbs back. If a coin peaks at $100 and drops to $60, the drawdown is −40%. The worst drawdown is the deepest of those falls over a period, and the time under water is how long the price stayed below a previous level. These numbers describe the past only; they say nothing about what a coin will do next.
